Book Review: Finale (Hush, Hush, #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick

My Thoughts:
Finale is the last book of the Hush, Hush Saga and it picks up exactly where Silence left off. The main protagonist, Nora Grey, is stuck between the war of Nephilims and fallen angels. The worst part, she has to lead the Nephilim army due to the oath she swore to the Black Hand.

Nephilims are tired of being possessed by fallen angels, making them swear the Oath of Fealty. This is when whoever is swearing the oath (to a fallen angel) they’re agreeing to give up their body every year during Cheshvan to the fallen angel to whom they swore the oath. – the fallen angel will be able to use their body and feel all the human emotions that come with it. Since the Nephilims couldn’t handle their bodies being abused anymore, they decided that the only way to end this is by declaring a war against the fallen angels. Nora, being the new leader of the Nephilim army is meant to save her people and destroy the fallen angels – destroy Patch.

Since Nora and Patch are together, the Nephilims are not 100% convinced that Nora is on their side. To gain the Nephilims’ trust and respect, their relationship has to be kept down low. Along with that, Nora has to fake date Dante, a well-known and respected Nephilim.

Nora was a human before, and since she’s like a newborn Nephilim, she’s very much weaker than the other Nephilims. Because of this, Dante insisted that he trains her.

This book is full of suspense and surprises. The characters grew immensely, especially Nora. I love how she’s grown from the first book until now. She’s more courageous, strong-willed and self-righteous. Patch was very cocky before but now, he’s more of charming, charismatic, loving and caring. As for Vee, oh she made me want to pull out my hair, but now I’ve grown to love her. She’s more mature and less extroverted. Scott, was also one of my favorites. He’s very caring and true to his words. Oh, how much my heart aches for him.

I love how Becca made her least likable characters seem to be likable at one point. Like they have their moments and it makes you appreciate them.

The book was so capturing and the plot flowed very well. It was action-packed and definitely satisfied my cravings. The ending was bitter-sweet but it gives the readers a nice resolution.

Finale had several things I didn’t see coming. I have major trust issues because of this book. Also, be sure to get your tissues ready because there’s a pretty major death coming & it will make you cry your heart out. DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU!

Overall, I thought Finale was a great conclusion to a great series. I recommend you read the series if you have a lot of free time.

It will lead to a destruction unlike anything you or I have ever seen.”

“No, Angel.” He leaned in, his teeth softly grazing my ear. “I undress to impress.”
