Summary:
Nora Grey’s life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn’t pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He’s more elusive than ever (if that’s possible) and what’s worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora’s archenemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadn’t been acting so distant. Even with Scott’s totally infuriating attitude, Nora finds herself drawn to him – despite her lingering feelings that he is hiding something.

If that weren’t enough, Nora is haunted by images of her murdered father, and comes to question whether her Nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death. Desperate to figure out what happened, she puts herself in increasingly dangerous situations to get the answer. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything – and everyone – she trusts.

My Thoughts: (short and quick review!)
Crescendo is the second book of the Hush, Hush series, written by Becca Fitzpatrick. This continues the grand and epic story of fallen angels, love, and sacrifice.

Just when Nora’s love life starts to get interesting, Patch was becoming more distant. Why was he becoming evasive? Everything starts to fall apart when Nora discovers that Patch has been hanging out with Marcie Millar, the girl who’s made Nora’s life a living hell.

The world that Nora thought she knew already was just the tip of the iceberg. Patch was having second thoughts, and Nora starts seeing her father appear on the crowds. But that’s impossible for Nora’s father was long dead. If there’s one thing she’s sure of, it is that someone out there is still trying to kill her. Little did Nora know that her killer is closer than she thinks. Prepare yourself for this book will take you on a path of twists and turns!

This is a great continuation of the first book. More secrets were revealed and I was left almost very satisfied with the happenings on it. Although, I did struggle with the characters. I hated— loathed, even — the whole ScottxNoraxPatchxMarcie thing. They were all so frustrating, especially on the first few pages. But as the story went on, I understood more of them, especially Scott. I’m really glad that he redeemed himself at the end of the book. And to be honest, I’m actually even looking forward on seeing him again on the last 2 books.

Crescendo ended with a MAJOR cliffhanger and it makes me really eager to read Silence, the third book on this series. I read it its summary earlier and I’m so excited to get my hands on it! ‘Til then, I’d see you all again with another book review. Adios!

I rated this book 3.7/5 stars.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from the book:

“Perfect darkness, ruptured by one burst of blinding light. It was like watching a cosmic phenomenon in space from millions of miles away.”

“Did I really want to stay on this road longer, knowing it was only going to end in devastation?”

“The only thing a boyfriend was good for was a shattered heart.”

“I tended to be a more romantic than a realist, and chose blind faith over cold logic.”

“Sometimes bad things have to happen before good things can.”
